Rapid COVID Molecular/NAAT TESTING

Remedy is offering the Abbott ID Now COVID-19 Assay performed on the ID NOW Instrument. This test is a rapid molecular in vitro diagnostic test utilizing an isothermal nucleic acid amplification technology intended for the qualitative detection of nucleic acid from the SARS-CoV-2 viral RNA in direct nasal swabs. The ID Now COVID-19 Assay has received Emergency Use Authorization (EUA) from the FDA.

Many travel restrictions require a molecular or NAAT test be conducted prior to arrival. Abbott’s ID Now COVID-19 test may satisfy these requirements; however, it is the purchaser’s responsibility to verify the test will be accepted for travel prior to purchase.

The tip of the cotton swab is inserted into both nostrils. The swab does not need to be inserted far, just until the cotton tip of the swab is no longer visible. The swab is then rotated in a circle around the entire inside edge of each nostril at least three times.

The possible benefits of a COVID-19 test are that the results can help your medical provider make informed recommendations about your care, and the results may help to limit the spread of COVID-19 to your family and others in the community.

HOW TESTING WORKS

  1. Book an appointment for a 15 minute time slot online

  2. Pull up to designated Remedy Parking stall at appointment time and call us when you arrive

  3. Remedy employee will come assist with sample collection.

  4. You will find out your results via phone call after they are resulted (~30-45 minutes). If you need paper documentation of your test results we are able to provide that as well.

FAQ

1. Does insurance cover testing?

We encourage all patients to submit for insurance reimbursement. You will be provided with all the necessary information that would be needed to submit for reimbursement (ICD 10 Code, Remedy EIN) on your receipt which is emailed to you after check out. Although we are happy to help answer questions and provide all the necessary documentation we can not guarantee that your insurance will cover your test.

2. Will this test work for travel restrictions/requirements? 

Since each state/country/airline has different requirements we can not guarantee that this test will meet the requirements of each place someone might be traveling too. This test is a molecular or "NAAT" test. This does work for many travel restrictions, but it would not meet a restriction that requires a "PCR" test. 

3. Can I call and book over the phone or in person instead of online?

We are sorry but at this time all booking must be made online.

4. I don't want to create a PayPal account. How do I pay without signing up for PayPal?
