Clinical Services

At Remedy we offer clinical pharmacy services you won’t find at any other pharmacy. Schedule a time with a highly trained pharmacist to receive one-on-one consultations for the following services.

Pharmacogenetic Profiling + Analysis

Pharmacogenomics is the study of the how the genetic makeup of an individual affects his/her response to drugs. We offer a pharmacogenomic service that includes testing, analysis, explanation, and interpretation. We highly recommend all of our patients get this analysis! Remedy will maintain your results on file and will apply them to all future medications.

This package includes:

  • Initial Appointment (10-15 minutes): Cheek swab saliva collection at the pharmacy

    • We will have your results 10-14 days after your initial appointment, at which time we will contact you to set up your Genetic Results Consultation.

  • Genetic Results Consultation (30 minutes): A Pharmacogenetic Pharmacist Specialist will review your results with you, interpret what these results mean regarding your current medications, and provide recommendations.

  • You will be provided with a copy of your personalized pharmacogenetic report, and we are happy to send a copy to your doctor.

  • Ongoing use of your results! Since your genetic information does not change, all patients who have undergone pharmacogenetic profiling at Remedy have the option for continual application of their results with any new medications prescribed. We can keep this information securely in your patient profile and give you ongoing recommendations.

MedOp Consultation

Google should not be your pharmacist. There is an art to applying what we know about medications to how we should use them. Each patient has unique needs when it comes to their medications and sometimes you need more time and privacy than you can get with the drop-in consultations. With this more in-depth consultation, a pharmacist will go through your medications one-by-one, answer any questions you may have, and provide helpful advice.

This consultation is fully customizable to help you meet your goals. Some common topics other patients have used this time with the pharmacist to address are:

  • Medication side effects

  • Drug-drug, drug-food, or drug-herb interactions

  • Medication de-escalation (determining what medications you might be able to get off of and how, in coordination with your doctor)

  • Medication reconciliation (coordination with multiple doctors to get one master medication list)

This consultation is held in our private consultation room and includes:

  • 30-45 minutes with a pharmacist

  • Correspondence with your doctor when issues are identified

  • Drug-nutrient depletion report

  • Drug-drug interaction report

Birth Control Consultation

Get birth control without having to go to the doctor or have insurance. We know the difference the right birth control makes. Even the slightest dose adjustment or a change in the estrogen component can make the world of difference. We know, we’ve been there.

  • 30-minute appointment with a pharmacist in our private consultation room

  • Thorough assessment of your past medical history, including past birth control experiences

  • Understanding of your contraception goals

  • Prescription for birth control pills based on full work-up

  • Note: The cost of your birth control pills is not included. In California, most birth control is covered at $0 cost if you have insurance.

Medication Administration

Afraid of needles or injecting yourself? We are here to help! If you have a prescription order for a self-injectable medication that you would rather have a pharmacist inject for you, we can do that in our private consultation room. No appointment required but please call ahead to ensure we can accommodate you.
